My neighbour, primary school and secondary school buddy

Two days ago, I went out with Jason, aka Rui Jie, my long time buddy who lives just opposite my block, whom we went to primary and secondary school together. It's been a very long while since we went out together to town as most of us were busy with school. The only possible time we can get together is during the school vacation week. Even at times during the school holidays, it can be quite difficult to meet up together as he is sometimes always busy with his other stuffs. However, I was quite fortunate to hang out with him last Saturday.

Earlier before that, I went to IMM with me, myself and I to get a 16GB microSD card for my new blackberry phone. I am so glad that I got it as I am now able to store my music albums in my phone. Initially, when I bought the new phone, it only has a limited 2GB memory. Having that small capacity is like living in this earth with a limited amount of oxygen. Thankfully for the 16GB huge memory, I can now store as many songs, pictures and of course videos inside my phone without any worries. Anyway, the reason why I switched my previous Samsung Omnia phone to Blackberry Bold is because my previous phone does not contain a 3.5mm universal headset jack. Hence I cannot listen to musics with my Beats by Dr Dre headset without the 3.5mm jack much to my dismay. After a fruitless searched for the headset adapter for my Omnia at Sim Lim Square a week ago, I decided it is time for me to part ways with my phone and get a new one.

That late Saturday afternoon, Jason and I went to town for shopping. Jason wanted to get his Halloween costumes for this coming Saturday's Halloween party at Night Safari. He invited me there but the ticket cost a staggering $45 per person. I doubt I will make it though as it is very expensive. Anyway, he wanted to dress up like Freddy Krueger, and so we went to Far East Shopping centre to get the costume. After much shopping, our stomach started to grumble and we had dinner at KFC. As soon as we were done for dinner, we visited Lucky Plaza. On the way there, we were quite lucky to see a white lamborghini at town. The reason why we went to Lucky Plaza as I wanted to get a new perfume. My old Armani Extreme cologne is finishing soon. After a much work of searching and comparing of prices of perfumes with many different shops, I got myself Burberry The Beat cologne at a cheapest price from one of the many perfume stores in Lucky Plaza. After which, we visited Jason's friends at Cineleisure. From there on, we went slacking and chill out at the Singapore River till midnight before going home.

I have yearn for this perfume a long time and finally I got it!

What A Day

Woke up in the morning quite late. As usual, during the holidays I will tend to go to bed late. I went to the gym after my breakfast. Today's workout was quite a rush, as I had to hurry back home just in time to do my IS module enrolment for the upcoming semester.

I had to cautiously and carefully pick for modules that I intent to study when school reopens. The reason being, I don't want to be overcome by regrets about choosing the wrong module and ultimately not doing well for it. All in all, I was quite satisfied with my choices and decisions after much critical considerations and research regarding the modules.

After I got home from gym and did my IS enrolment, I met up with KC at West Mall and had chicken rice for lunch whereas he got himself a bowl of noodle at Koufu. He made reservation for karaoke whilst we were having lunch and we immediately took a train to Kbox located nearby Lot 1 shopping mall after our lunch.

We went home to have dinner and soon met up again for a movie at West Mall. Caught a movie called 'Detective Dee And The Mystery Of Phantom Flame'. KC commented that it was a rather an interesting and exciting movie to watch. I suppose that it has a good storyline. If one understands the movie well, you can tell that it has a good plot. Unfortunately I wasn't quite fascinated by the movie as I wasn't paying much attention to the movie as I find it pretty boring. Funnily enough, I drifted my mind into my own world at times. To be honest, I yawned two times while watching it! I just can't wait for the movie to end!

Once the movie was done, we travelled to King Albert Park by bus to McDonald's restaurant and had our supper. I had chicken nuggets meal whislt KC had a quarter pounder meal. Initially we thought of having our supper at McDonald nearby Bukit Batok, but it was already closed for renovation.

However, I did watched two more movies for the last two days. One is called 'The Other Guys' and the other is 'The Switch' starring Jennifer Aniston, Bradd Pitt's former wife who featured in the season long sitcom called F.R.I.E.N.D.S. In my opinion, 'The Other Guys' was extremely and exceedeingly funny. The movie can make anyone laughed till their stomach get terribly hurts. It is a movie that tickle you for every minute and every second. Would give a full rating for that movie. A truely enjoyable movie filled with fun and laughter. Wheareas for 'The Switch', although it is a comedy movie too, I can't really tell much that it is a comedy as compared to 'The Other Guys'. I suppose that 'The Switch' is a decent movie, probably not a memorable one but a movie that is enough to make you laugh and be cheeerful while watching it. Perhaps if I did not watched 'The Other Guys', probably I would enjoy watching 'The Switch' very much.

An Unexpected Day

Here's how the story goes.

Initially, I was skyping with KC.
The reason we planned so is because he wanted to show to me his new limited edition Lamborghini Beats studio by Dr Dre and his new five pairs of True Religion jeans through the computer that he had purchased it online a week ago. Supposedly, it was comfirmed to arrive yesterday at 5pm, unfortunately, due to the suprisingly cold and heavy downpour, the items did not delivered. Probably today I guess.

Feeling disappointed, we decided to try the new Kbox outlet at Choa Chu Kang behind the Lot one shopping mall. We did went there once before, but it wasn't satisfying as we only get to karaoke for an hour and a half as we did not make an early reservation. The oulet may be conveninet for us as it is near to our homes, however, the depressing thing is, since it's a new outlet, all the rooms are usually fully booked! However, as opposed to yesterday night, it was much a distinct esperience. We made an early reservation, and got to sing for three hours. Worth the money I feel! Before we went inside, we had chicken steak for dinner at Bistro Delifrance. From there on, we sang till 10pm and got home.

Below are more photos of the new Kbox outlet at Chao Chu Kang. The room looks pretty big eh?

Hari Raya

For the past three consecutive days, I have been spending most of the time with my family and relatives celebrating the month of Hari Raya.
On the first day of Hari Raya which falls on Friday, after my Dad and I performed our Friday prayers at the mosque, my family and I visited my grandma's house in Jurong. We feasted on traditional food and chatted all day long. That wasn't the only house we visited, moreover, we did also visited some of my our relatives' house whom most of them live in the western part of Singapore. Below are some photos of the festive goodies and my counsin's son with their family, taken when they visited my house to celebrate Hari Raya.

The following day, it was rather an opposite experience as compared to Friday. Instead of being a guest, my family and I became a host as hordes of my relatives visited my house. We served them drinks, let them try our festive goodies, chatted together and last but not least, my parents gave the children like what the chinese used to call it, 'hong bao'. However, my family and I didn't spend that Saturday just entertaining our guests, we did went out late in the afternoon to perform more visitings at our relatives' home once the guests have left.
Yesterday was rather a much more exciting day than the first two days of Hari Raya. The reason being, I got to visit my closest cousins. It has been a long and lengthy time since I met them. The only time we get to meet each other is only during Hari Raya. I still used to remember those times when my cousins and I were young, where we would played video games together, had a game of football and also hang out together. But now since we had already grew older, we are not as close as we used to be. Our relationship started to change. We don't spend much of our time together like we used to. Probably they might be busy with their work or they already have their friends to hang out with. Moreover, since I live in the west while my cousins live in the east, it makes even harder for me to visit them as oftenly as I would have preferred.
So far I have collected 'hong bao' worth more than $100 from all the visitings made for the first three days of Hari Raya. To be honest, I guess it's a fair amount. Since the economic crisis and inflation had made a huge negative impact on the financial needs of some of my relatives, I guess I shouldn't be expecting a lot of 'hong bao' this year and perhaps the year after.

Recent Activities

Last night was rather exciting. Went karaoke and had a buffet with KC and his friends, Maddy and John at Kbox Cineleisure. Initially, I assumed that the buffet wouldn't be that nice since Kbox is a karaoke business and does not specialise in fine food. Suprisingly, I realized that the buffet wasn't that bad afterall. Well, I probably could be bias since I was so hungry at that point of time due to the fasting month. Anyway, we sang from evening till night time and took a cab back from The Hereen to Maplewoods condominium, where KC and I swam in the pool and chatted together. Supposedly, we wanted to watch a late night movie though, however, there wasn't any time slot available in the cinema. After much fruitless effort to find some late night activities to do, I decided going back home will a nice idea to end a fun-filled day. However, I did caught a movie called The Expendables though, about a week ago at West Mall. I must say the end product of the movie was kinda average considering a lot of superstars acting in the movie such as Sylvester Stallone, who is famous for his Rocky movie, moreover Arnold Schwazenegger, the ex-bodybuilder and once played in the Terminator movie, not forgetting Jet Li too, who also appeared in the movie and last but not least Stone Cold Steve Austin, who is well known in the business of wrestling.

Knowing that exams are around the corner, probably in 3 days time I supposed, I wouldn't fancy trying to spend my time on entertainment, however, I guess sometimes, we just need to find a time-out from studying just for a temporary moment so that we can discover back the enjoyment to prepare better for the exams. Other than me, all my friends in school who are currently preparing for exams would also love to see this week to end in a haste.

Today marked the 22nd day of Ramadan. Like any other Muslims out there, certainly I cannot wait to end the fasting month and celebrate Hari Raya with family and friends. Fortunately, Hari Raya will start 3 days after my final exam paper, I guess it is a perfect way to end the exams and prepare to celebrate Hari Raya. Couldn't ask for a better timing! Hari Raya will usually be filled with activities such as having to taste a wide variety of food, collecting money and perform family visitings. Expecting more updates on Hari Raya in the near future.

These days I have been contemplating whether to get a job or just enjoy life after exams. I agree that money do will be needed to spend on entertainment, but time will be also wasted from working.

Entertainment and Ramadan

I just got home from karaoke with Khun Cheng and his classmate. Upon entering the house, I immediately break my fast with a couple of dates and a glass of orange juice followed by a decent meal.

Indeed, it is that time of the month again! The holy month of Ramadan. One of the five pillars of Islam that a muslim have to follow. Just so everyone knows, during this month, muslims are abstain from eating and drinking from dawn to dusk, moreover, shy away from committing sins . I must say, a challenge that I am reluctant to perform. Fortunately, fasting during ramadan has been a thing of a past since I was young, so it shouldn't be any problem anyway. Moreover, the best part of ramadan is, neighbours usually tend to swap dishes that have been prepared. It has always been a tradition during this month. Since we are refrained from eating for long hours, I believe we are ought to sample all kind of dishes once we break our fast. However, one thing i dislike about fasting is that I am not able to participate in physical activies such as sports or working out in the gym. These are the types of activities that would make you sweat and require loads of energy so as to be able to perform well, which can be detrimental to a person's health if it goes on without food. I guess, if I feel the need to do sports or go gym to maintain fitness, unfortunately the ideal time to do it will be at night, after breaking my fast.

Coincidentally, this year, the month of ramadan happen to take place during my school study break. Which means, no school for about 3 weeks, hereafter, I will have to sit for my final exams. During this lengthy break, an ideal plan will be to make use of the time to study and prepare for my exams, however, I find it to be quite early to start my revision and so, lately, I have been going out to the cinema, went to karaoke, met up with old friends and also, not forgetting to attend my driving lessons. Sadly, there is still a long way to go before I could eventually get a driving license. So I have got to be patient.

So far, the two recent movies that I have watched are Predators, which was way back in mid of July and Phua Chu Kang which was about last week. To be honest, Predators was way below par. As expected, group of humans killing a group of monsterous-like creatures. Utterly nothing special. The storyline wasn't interesting for my liking. The fact is, since it is the remake of the previous Predators movie, I find it no different than the current one. The most dissapointingly, allowing Adrien Brod as the main actor for the movie was a bad choice. I suppose, the makers of the movie could have picked an actor who is bulky enough more like Arnold Schwarzenegger in the previous movie. I felt that Adrien Brod was very lanky and look way scrawny in the movie. Could have choose a better main actor though.

Moving on, PCK movie wasn't that bad. The movie encompasses some good moral values that viewers can learnt from, moreover, the movie was full of emotional and without a doubt brimming with laughter. However, having been watching PCK shows on television before and had become a fan of it, I realised that the movie could have been funnier than I expected. Well, the movie certainly made me laugh, but, it didn't tickle me up to the point where I will be laughing to tears or laughing till my stomach get hurts.

Now the month of July has past, I am looking forward for the future.

Pizza For Sales

Last last Tuesday was my I&E school project. It is one of those typical extra module that we as a student of Ngee Ann Polytechnic, had to participate in. Initially, we had to pick a favourite sub-module from a wide variety of choices such as Health & Lifestyle, Environment, Community or Entrepreneur. Without a doubt, Health & Lifestyle was in my top list when given an opportunity a choice as I have passion for sports. Due to some circumstances, I opted for Entrepreneur instead. Fortunately for me, it turned out well. I was extremely delighted and lucky that I had chosen Entrepreneur for my I&E module, the reason being, me and my group had earned fairly an amount of profits by selling pizza.
Well, our project could have been a catastrophic one if we had decided on our first idea to sell clothes. The reason why I said so, there was a group located nearby our stall, selling clothes. From our observations, they did not earn rather well as we could see a stock of clothes behind their stall still left unsold even though we had already earned enough profits from the sales of the pizza to cover up our budget and cost price during the sales. If I am not wrong, I was informed by my group members that they even had to cut the price of their clothes drastically. Pity them. After much considerations made by our group members, we decided to sell pizza instead.
If you wonder why our business was a breeze, it was mostly thanks to Arvin, our group leader, who had a bunch of his friends visited our stall and bought the pizza from us. Well, credit to our group too for their sheer hard work and determination to put together a successful business. Not to mention Aman, one of our group member, who had his colleague from the pizza company he worked for, to give us a discount for the order of the pizzas. Awkwardly enough, I kept getting his name wrong. Must apologise for that. I am a firm believer that life is not always perfect. Coincidentally, our business fell into that matter. Unofrtunately, the downfall from our project was, we are not able to sell all the drinks that we had ordered. Well, selling the drinks together with the pizza was not my idea as I predicted many customers would rather buy the pizza only. However, I just went with the group's decision. Had my group heeded my advice, I reckon we could have earned better though. All in all, I was glad to be part of the group. If given a chance to change anything from my group, I would be content to change nothing, nothing at all!

The First Week Of School Holiday

Today mark the end of the first two weeks of my school holiday. In fact, time do flies when your are enjoying yourself. Wish had the holidays stretched a week or two longer though, so that I can see off the remaining world cup matches. Unfortunately, have to give some of the matches a miss instead, due to school.

Talking about school, my school books, bag and study table have been busy collecting dust ever since the last day of my common test. That's why I had spent part of yesterday doing some cleaning in my room. A sense of guiltiness overcome me as I had barely touch anything related to school stuffs even though there are some upcoming projects await when school reopens. However, I always live by this mantra that, "Holiday is a time for you to enjoy yourself and have a break.", which means forgetting about school or work matter. Rightfully, I will not be giving a tiny bit of attention about my studies. Instead, I will be finding ways to have fun.

My holiday activity officially began on last Sunday, whereby Deslen and I went to shop at Orchard. Initially, I didn't have in mind on what to shop for, nevertheless, I went anyway hoping to chance upon for any sales item available out there since the GSS have finally arrived, at long last. Once we arrived, I accompanied Deslen to the foodcourt in Wisma, to grab some prata and teh tarik, which he allegedly claimed to be the best prata he had ever tasted(I doubt so). After much time roaming around the malls, I bought a pair of trousers whereas Deslen got himself, not one but three red singlets. Come nighttime, met Deslen's friends along the way to Cineleisure and we had KFC for dinner. Love that crispy fried greasy chicken!

The rest of the days after that Sunday, had Khun Cheng not went back to Cambodia, he would be either messenging or calling me out to go shopping, karaoke or catch a movie. Since he is not here in Singapore, much of my precious holiday time are spent at home watching movies and sleeping late just to catch as much world cup matches as my tired eyes would allow me to. I didn't had to watch the world cup matches alone though, Dawei and I witnessed it live from his home. The best part is, we didn't had to watch football on an empty stomach, instead we feasted on a fully grown bbq spring chicken and had some ginger beer. We also made a hell lot of noise which prompt his neighbour to come knocking on his door reminding us to be quiet. Alas, all these late night sleeping and snacking on junk food come with a price to pay. In the end, my body immunity system give way and I became the victim of the sore throat and flu virus. It's been long time since I got sick, so I would never mind now.

Not forgetting one more thing which I need to spend much of my holiday time is to study for my FTT, due this Friday. Got to allow myself some time and discipline to revise. The last thing I need is to fail my FTT and wait for 3 more months to retake it.

Warm Welcome

Hello there! Welcome to my blog, will be updating it very SOON!
