An Unexpected Day

Here's how the story goes.

Initially, I was skyping with KC.
The reason we planned so is because he wanted to show to me his new limited edition Lamborghini Beats studio by Dr Dre and his new five pairs of True Religion jeans through the computer that he had purchased it online a week ago. Supposedly, it was comfirmed to arrive yesterday at 5pm, unfortunately, due to the suprisingly cold and heavy downpour, the items did not delivered. Probably today I guess.

Feeling disappointed, we decided to try the new Kbox outlet at Choa Chu Kang behind the Lot one shopping mall. We did went there once before, but it wasn't satisfying as we only get to karaoke for an hour and a half as we did not make an early reservation. The oulet may be conveninet for us as it is near to our homes, however, the depressing thing is, since it's a new outlet, all the rooms are usually fully booked! However, as opposed to yesterday night, it was much a distinct esperience. We made an early reservation, and got to sing for three hours. Worth the money I feel! Before we went inside, we had chicken steak for dinner at Bistro Delifrance. From there on, we sang till 10pm and got home.

Below are more photos of the new Kbox outlet at Chao Chu Kang. The room looks pretty big eh?

Hari Raya

For the past three consecutive days, I have been spending most of the time with my family and relatives celebrating the month of Hari Raya.
On the first day of Hari Raya which falls on Friday, after my Dad and I performed our Friday prayers at the mosque, my family and I visited my grandma's house in Jurong. We feasted on traditional food and chatted all day long. That wasn't the only house we visited, moreover, we did also visited some of my our relatives' house whom most of them live in the western part of Singapore. Below are some photos of the festive goodies and my counsin's son with their family, taken when they visited my house to celebrate Hari Raya.

The following day, it was rather an opposite experience as compared to Friday. Instead of being a guest, my family and I became a host as hordes of my relatives visited my house. We served them drinks, let them try our festive goodies, chatted together and last but not least, my parents gave the children like what the chinese used to call it, 'hong bao'. However, my family and I didn't spend that Saturday just entertaining our guests, we did went out late in the afternoon to perform more visitings at our relatives' home once the guests have left.
Yesterday was rather a much more exciting day than the first two days of Hari Raya. The reason being, I got to visit my closest cousins. It has been a long and lengthy time since I met them. The only time we get to meet each other is only during Hari Raya. I still used to remember those times when my cousins and I were young, where we would played video games together, had a game of football and also hang out together. But now since we had already grew older, we are not as close as we used to be. Our relationship started to change. We don't spend much of our time together like we used to. Probably they might be busy with their work or they already have their friends to hang out with. Moreover, since I live in the west while my cousins live in the east, it makes even harder for me to visit them as oftenly as I would have preferred.
So far I have collected 'hong bao' worth more than $100 from all the visitings made for the first three days of Hari Raya. To be honest, I guess it's a fair amount. Since the economic crisis and inflation had made a huge negative impact on the financial needs of some of my relatives, I guess I shouldn't be expecting a lot of 'hong bao' this year and perhaps the year after.

Recent Activities

Last night was rather exciting. Went karaoke and had a buffet with KC and his friends, Maddy and John at Kbox Cineleisure. Initially, I assumed that the buffet wouldn't be that nice since Kbox is a karaoke business and does not specialise in fine food. Suprisingly, I realized that the buffet wasn't that bad afterall. Well, I probably could be bias since I was so hungry at that point of time due to the fasting month. Anyway, we sang from evening till night time and took a cab back from The Hereen to Maplewoods condominium, where KC and I swam in the pool and chatted together. Supposedly, we wanted to watch a late night movie though, however, there wasn't any time slot available in the cinema. After much fruitless effort to find some late night activities to do, I decided going back home will a nice idea to end a fun-filled day. However, I did caught a movie called The Expendables though, about a week ago at West Mall. I must say the end product of the movie was kinda average considering a lot of superstars acting in the movie such as Sylvester Stallone, who is famous for his Rocky movie, moreover Arnold Schwazenegger, the ex-bodybuilder and once played in the Terminator movie, not forgetting Jet Li too, who also appeared in the movie and last but not least Stone Cold Steve Austin, who is well known in the business of wrestling.

Knowing that exams are around the corner, probably in 3 days time I supposed, I wouldn't fancy trying to spend my time on entertainment, however, I guess sometimes, we just need to find a time-out from studying just for a temporary moment so that we can discover back the enjoyment to prepare better for the exams. Other than me, all my friends in school who are currently preparing for exams would also love to see this week to end in a haste.

Today marked the 22nd day of Ramadan. Like any other Muslims out there, certainly I cannot wait to end the fasting month and celebrate Hari Raya with family and friends. Fortunately, Hari Raya will start 3 days after my final exam paper, I guess it is a perfect way to end the exams and prepare to celebrate Hari Raya. Couldn't ask for a better timing! Hari Raya will usually be filled with activities such as having to taste a wide variety of food, collecting money and perform family visitings. Expecting more updates on Hari Raya in the near future.

These days I have been contemplating whether to get a job or just enjoy life after exams. I agree that money do will be needed to spend on entertainment, but time will be also wasted from working.
